Optical satellitesOptical satellites take digital photographs. The satellite captures pictures in different spectral bands (say colors) at the same time. Some pictures use made capturing a broad band (pan-chromatic, "grayscale"), where other pictures contain information on a small spectral bands (multi-spectral, "color"). By merging the information from multiple bands into one image, details will show which can get interpreted by humans. Interpretation requires specilized skills. Clouds will render the image (partially) useless; the success of optical shots cannot be guaranteed beforehand. SelectionGeoserve delivers products from more than 20 different optical satellites. We can advice on the best product to fulfil your information need. We select from the available products based on many criterea, amongst other things: required resolutions, spectral coverage, cost, availability, speed of delivery, licenses, position accuracy, and more. Available satellites: high resolution (upto 2m), middle resolution (2-30m), and low resolution (over 30m). AdvicePicking the wrong product for your project can lead to high costs or unusable data. The lowest price for a product does not always lead to the cheapest solution. Geoserve knows the specifications, the applications and the limitations of products from experience. Our project support can save your organization time and money. |
